Dar-ul-Aman - “A place for the destitute women”

“We are like a family over here”, said Naima, a 29-year old living in a Dar-ul-Aman located amidst a posh area of an urban city.
“Yes, sometimes we do feel sad or lonely, but after all this is our home and we've got ourselves a decent and respectful life here”

Dar-ul-Aman, the Persian word for the “The house of peace” has since long remained a refuge for those who are elderly, dependent or impoverished. Critics have always analyzed the pros and cons of this part of society and have impressed their point-of-view to justify their perception.

Let us have a brief encounter of both sides of the coin concerning this matter.
Imagine a woman who has, by the hands of fate, been forced to live a life of loneliness either due to the death of her partner or her father. Where would she go, considering the harsh society which perceives a lone female both suspicious and vulnerable? Is this her fault or the fault of the society in which she is forced to live?
Putting fate aside, the crippling economic conditions and increasing cost of living in our country has forced even the women to come out and earn their bread and butter. For a women who has someone to protect her and cater for her needs, leaving her home to work might be feasible and relatively comfortable. But a desolate lady is prone to the societal hounds and both her dignity and honor seems to be a susceptible to disgrace.
In such circumstances, Dar-ul-aman acts as a safe haven providing both shelter and honor. Vocational skills are utilized by the women living there to earn their living. This not only has created self-employment opportunities for them but has also contributed towards the growth of small and cottage industries in the country.
On the other hand, there is a darker side to the story as in any other case. Some people disparage this set-up and insist that Dar-ul-aman have contributed negatively towards the betterment of the society.
On a particular note, they have acted as a reason for some stonehearted males to abandon their dependent ones. While on another note, they have been alleged of being developed into cradles of moral wrongdoings. Since those who are inducted in such setups are secluded and have no family-person to care for them, their being maltreated, abducted or disgraced doesn’t affect anyone except for their friends or those fellows living with them in the sanctuary, the ones to whom they refer to as “our family members”.
This conspiracy theory has been further aired by the source of funds, which according to the locals are private and undisclosed.
Even if someone binds himself from believing the above arguments, one cannot certainly deny the fact that some women are spending their lives rather than living them.
The authorities may be blamed for not providing adequate opportunities and funds to the Dar-ul-aman or the society may be blamed for their mental perception in not providing a congenial working environment. But will this debate even matter if we do not take up practical steps to address this issue?

The facts have been laid, both the sides of the coin have been shown, both sides of the story have been narrated, and now in the end, the conclusion is for you, to deduct.

Umera Ahmed - Writer

Some people have been blessed woth the power to transform their thoughts into words with such an expertise that they exhibit a new realm for their readers and teleport them right into the world of their words.
Umera Ahmed , the finest of The Novelists of the current era, has been blessed with this type of Pen-capability.

A speciality of her novels that I have long admired is that the Stories she chooses and the way she depicts her characters, they seem so real that a reader feels like its happening to him or her as he sifts through the words of the novel.
Every reader, and particularly me, feels like he is Saalar Sikander, or Imaan Ali, or Umeed Alam, or Hadeed and Even Zaroon..
And this novel, Peer-e-kamil, I dont think we'll have more than just a few of the teenagers who haven't read it..

Just Two Words for this Writer..... Hats Off....!!

Memories

People are Habitual in Forgetting Memories Really Fast..
I happen to be one of those Rare ones who Love to remember and memorize those precious moments..
Sitting Quietly on the Bed, Looking Across the Dark Walls of the room, One finds a World. A world of Happiness, Foolish little Actions and Unforgettable Gestures..

He Lays There For HOurs and Hours, Pondering upon his past; the Glory, The Failures..
And those Few Chaps Who happen to Have Such a feeling, they can surely understand the happiness that develops swiftly and steadly Within Their hearts..
Memories Of What One was, What One could've been..

Just Lay Down, Relax And Remember....

Silent Love - Defined

Silent Love- defined
Have you ever had the feeling that you care for someone's Thinking?
That you Dont want to Have a bad impression in front of them?
That Your heart beat Rises when you see Him/her or when He/She Passes by you??

Three Straight "YEs" and You might be in love with that person.
But Believe me, It aint Love, it is Affection and Care..
This Affection and care when Intensifies results in love..

I KNOW A GUY, Who believes in Silent Love,
Not expressing what your feelings are, Directly.
Rather You give hints and omens that you love someone..
This type of Love is what inspired me..

You Go to your Loved-one and Address him
"excuse me!"
But when you recieve the attention from him/her, Words Just transfuse out of your mind and you just go blank and return Unsaid, Unheard, Unknown..!!

Love is not what you bluntly Express, It gradually builds from the First Sight to the First word to the First Talk..

"Khuda aur Muhabbat" was a famous Pakistani Drama Made on this Concept of True Love and i do advise the readers to watch it, it will certainly clear the concept of WHAT LOVE ACTUALLY IS...

A final Word to the readers,
If you are Loving someone silently then Keep it up, A bit of patience and Truth will finally get your loved ones to know it..
But also Watch out for the Omens Other people might be silently sending you and you havent been considering them So far...

Recent Happening

Once there used to be a King..
he gave the task of building a new castle to one of his trusted Architects of that time..
That Architect used to work for the king although he didnt like the king at all..
Anyhow he started building the Castle while the king used to check on the construction everyday..
After a Year or So that Castle was completed But the Crafty architect made the foundations of the castle quite weak..

Anyhow the king was very delightful on the architect's work thus rewarding him heavily..
When the King entered the Castle, It suddenly came down resulting in the Death of the King....

Moral:
The King : represents simple people who are habitual in trusting others

The architect : represents all those who are habitual of gaining other people's trust through there false stories and lies

Now its upon you to decide whether you are
" The King or The Architect "
In other people's Life...

When It Happens

There are Feelings Hidden inside your heart,
Waiting to be converted into Words and Sentences..
but Sometimes One Doesn't Find the Courage to Say it..
This may be Due to Internal loss of confidence or Sometimes External Factors such as the presence of people, Unfavourable Circumstances or mood of the Addressee..

Something like this happened with me a few days back as i was Victimized with a same sort of Situation...

But I was happy rather than being regretful, because Sometimes this Lack of Confidence saves you from further Regret ; as was the case with me..

I know this Post is full of strange not understandable things..

So simply,
What Happens, Happens For the Best!!

The Future

I just made this video based upon my life. Do check it out and provide valuable Feedback upon it..

Consistency - Defined

In the picture here A tap is dripping water Drop by Drop, Consistently...
Well it is our observation that after sometime the stone or floor on which the drops are falling will ultimately be penetrated or to some extent distorted..
Thats What i want to tell you all today;
No matter whats the Intensity of your efforts, but if they are being consistently applied, it will finally destroy the obstacles in its path and you will finally achieve what you desire...
